Fire Alarms & Fire Detection Systems

Fire protection is essential to any business, home or other property to ensure the safety of all people who use the building and to minimize the risk. In addition to the human cost the financial cost to business as a result of fire is incalculable. Reliable and secure fire protection can help and with leading edge technologies many fires can be caught before serious risk is established.

At King Communications we have many years experience providing our expertise into the design and installation of Fire systems. We have also been involved the deployment of systems with tight integration of systems including Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control and also to link into Public Address for evacuation messaging.

Most Fire Alarm systems are now specified as Addressable which allows emergency services to establish quickly the detection device that is in an alarmed state. Each device on the system is given a unique address that can then be translated into a location by the Fire Alarm Panel. Some smaller installations still utilise non-addressable systems.

Monitoring

The defacto monitoring standard for Fire Alarm monitoring is now BT Redcare. This service is provided by an accredited Alarm Receiving Centre and allows notification of an alarm event but also more importantly when the line is no longer available. Redcare will 'PING' the line every few seconds to ensure that it is available. If not then an alarm condition will be generated.

Please note you do not need to contact BT for this service. King Communications will provide this as part of the installation and will test. There is however a setup and annual monitoring fee.
